PlanEvents.ca's Top Indian Wedding Vendors for 2021

Welcome to our PlanEvents.ca’s Top Indian Vendor awards for 2021.

This year, we changed things up a little. In the past, each vendor category had multiple winners. For 2021, there was only one winner per category.

In choosing these placements, we focused on the following:

  • What are customer reviews look like for the vendor?
  • What was the vendor’s rating overall?
  • What did each vendor’s rating look like in 2021?

We are going to keep this short and simple.

Indian Bridal Wear Winner

Lux Collections

Located in the Payal Business Centre in Surrey, B.C., Lux Collections offers beautiful wedding outfits (see the gallery to the right!). Brides describe Lux Collections as a company that works with their customers to create the most beautiful outfits, within the bride’s budget.

I wanted to write a review for Lux Collection in Surrey, Payal Business. I bought my bridal outfit from them. I searched all over Surrey and most places had similar outfits for 3x the price. Lux was well priced and amazing customer service. My outfit came exactly how I wanted it and It was a very smooth transaction. The owner is very sweet and takes interest In your event and vision. I even got my outfit altered 3 times free of charge because I kept gaining/losing weight and they accommodated all my weight fluctuations and altered my outfit free of charge. I usually have troubles with fittings because of my wide shoulders but my outfit fits perfectly. I bought a lot of other outfits from there, including engagement and couldn’t be happier with the whole service. Definitely recommend them. Covid has been very stressful so having my bridal outfit transactions be smooth,fun, and exciting was definitely needed!! Check them out!!

Beauty by Komal

Based out of Seattle, Beauty by Komal started a couple years ago. For a long time, many Washingtonians have looked to British Columbia for their wedding needs. During COVID-19, border closures created a need for Indian makeup artists in Washington state, and Komal came to the rescue.

Komal is such a sweetheart and an amazing artist and stylist! She did my makeup and hair for my daughter's wedding and I loved it so much. I received so many compliments from all of our guests. Komal is so talented and I would definitely book her again - she made me look and feel SO beautiful. She is also a wonderful, patient, and loving person and I am so glad we found her to do my looks. Would highly recommend her and would definitely book her again 🙂 Thank you Komal! xoxo

Glitz and Glamour did my brother in laws decor for his wedding few years back and omg they did such an amazing job, so we just knew had to get them as well! There so easy to work with. We contacted them last year and met up with them twice and honestly it was super easy, we told them the colours we wanted and what we had in mind but we also just let them do whatever they wanted! They killed it ! We loved our decor ! The whole team was so wonderful to work with !

Studio 12

Located in Surrey, B.C., Studio 12 has made a name for themselves as a top photographer and videographer in lower mainland B.C. In addition for being known for their quality of work, clients have mentioned that they are highly communicative and fast.

I used them for my wedding this year in March and they did an amazing job! They were really easy to work with and our pictures and videos turned out great! And they were pretty quick with getting us our pictures and videos after the wedding

Jasmine's Henna

Located in B.C., Jasmine’s Henna won 3rd place in last year’s PlanEvent.ca’s awards. This year she became the top mehndi artist on our platform. Brides love her professionalism, the darkness of her mehndi, and how long her mehndi lasts.

Jasmine is very talented and professional. I got full bridal henna done on my arms and feet. The design is beautiful and she used all natural products. More than a week later my mehndi is still dark!

Men's Wear

Maharaja Pagdi and Swords

2021 was the first year that we introduced an award for the Men’s Wear category. Maharaja Pagdi and Swords is based in B.C., but has customers all over the world. Known for their real custom swords and many types of hand-tied turbans, Maharaja makes their grooms feel like kings.

My husband and I didn’t just get a sword from Hari, we got an heirloom to pass on for generations. We had a very precise look in mind for my husband since he wanted to stay simple but elegant. Grooms don’t get much to adorn themselves that’s why they need statement pieces that bring the entire look together and that’s exactly what our sword did. The customer service on top of the product quality was phenomenal. Hari was very prompt with communication and service, we felt as if we were long time friends. All in all if took less than 3 weeks to pick our design, get it engraved and delivered to us during COVID. It was a pleasure working with such an amazing vendor.

Lucid Entertainment

Lucid Entertainment just came on the scene during the pandemic. In that short amount of time, Lucid has become a well-established D.J. and entertainment service in lower mainland B.C.

Highly recommend DJ Diablo from Lucid Entertainment , I had Harman for all my events last October. Even ended up getting him for my afternoon Choora last minute since my family enjoyed his tunes.

    I had a mixed wedding this year and hired DJ Diablo from Lucid Entertainment for my engagement and mehndi night. Best decision ever! We wanted someone who was experienced in many different genres and styles of music as I am punjabi and my husband is scottish. He’s so incredibly talented with the way he blends indian and western music together, keeping the dancefloor packed all night! We are so excited for our reception as we booked Harman again. We can’t wait! 5 stars
