Im having troubles with a vendor who is not willing to give my deposit back.
Last year February I paid Reemake studios $500 in deposit for my wedding, which has been cancelled now.
I’ve reached out to her, to let her know that I’ve cancelled the wedding. Since her business also offers spa services, I thought I ask to use the deposit towards a hydrafacial. However, they automatically said the deposit can not be used for other services in the studio, it can only be used for hair or makeup services.
So I’ve asked to refund the deposit back, since there is no contract signed nor was it documented in the email. They refused to refund my deposit. However, they said it’s written on their website. But I never ever contact them through their website, I’ve always chatted with them through instagram or email. As well, on their instagram, there wasn’t even a website linked to their account. So how would I know, they have a website.. Take in, I was even their regular hydrafacial client for almost 2 years.
I’m super upset about this. Every other vendor, that I’ve worked with, was super flexible and understanding. I understand covid has made a huge impact on everyone but it’s not right to hold on to someone else’s money, without having a contract in place. Also, they said they don’t do contract for “small services.” I mean, how is a bridal services small?
Overall, I definitely don’t recommend reemake studios. Please, every vandor should always have contracts in place, for every services they provide. No matter how big or small the service is, a contract should always be in place….
I will be taking my business somewhere, where clients are appreciated and not disrespected nor stolen from.
