It’s sad it came to this. I feel if only Dominic Captures were honest from the beginning this wouldn’t have happened. I told him my budget and he said he works with all budgets. I asked him “Am I getting all the pictures and video?” and he said YES. That was the lie, the deceit. His plan all along is to upsell me the rest of my wedding video. I paid him $1200 for a 3 hr intimate wedding.

He kept on messaging me everyday until I booked him. It was him who pursued me. I never once heard “oh you have to pay additional $500 to get all the videos”. Until he gave me the 2 minute video of our wedding after 6 weeks. That statement alone could have saved us from this predicament. I wouldn’t have booked him and I wouldn’t have used him as our photographer/Videographer. The end… but no that didn’t happened.

I understand, it’s business that’s why I don’t take it lightly to leave a negative review. I emailed him weeks ago and I tried to go halfway. I am willing to pay half of that $500 for the video because it is important and he is keeping that special moment and even though i felt deceived I was still willing to meet half way. I would have had glowing recommendation about him and everyone I know will hear good things about him. I was telling my sister in law to book him before all this happened and they have unlimited budget. All my family and friends would hear good things about him. But he never replied on my very last email before I did my review and I knew we are never going to get our video. Now, you lost more than that. He also had a condescending tone about me having a budget but he knew my budget right from the start.

None of my friends and family will believe you because they know me. I didn’t lie to anything I said about my interactions or my review. There was a time I wanted to cancel the video all together but he said down-payment has been made and it cannot be cancelled. I said okay. No ifs and buts. I agreed. My fault was I believed him when he said I will get all the pictures and video when I inquired before booking his services.

I know he is young and he does have talent but he has so much to learn as everyone else. It’s not enough to have talent in this business so many competition just as good and some better. He doesn’t know how to meet client halfway when there’s a disagreement. I felt how big his ego was even from just his emails. I’m not the kind of person to take whatever that’s not mine like what he implies on his emails towards me nor want the entire plane as his analogy. Also, I am not someone who would not pay what is due. That’s not the kind of person I am.

I’m a simple mom who got married for the second time after being a widow at a young age. No other family here in Canada other than friends who are like family. Edward was the first person I dated after 11 years of raising two children on my own. They were babies and very little when my first husband died. Marrying Edward was a very special time. This too is a learning curve for me as to not believe anyone trying to get my business because they will say anything and that’s what you did. This photographer now kept on

***after leaving this review he removed access to our pictures. Looks like he is forcing us to go to small claims court for pictures we paid $1000 a week early for. He is also saying he will give us back what we paid for if we remove the truthful below review.

The quality of our wedding images is OK, but we were treated very unprofessionally. The final product doesn’t reflect the examples that we were promised and minimal effort was given. Despite our instructions we received shots of décor that wasn’t set up yet and the wrong wedding date is on our gallery. 3 months ahead of the wedding my spouse lost his job and we asked to move one package down from Bronze to Copper. Dominic refused this saying that he had turned away business to do our Monday night. He never showed up and there was zero communication about this. On the day our calls went to a full mailbox! The sub photographer had been briefed on our event a long time ago and contradicted Dominic’s late excuse for his absence. We never recommend dealing with Dominic Captures!

Dominic has been great. I worked with Dom over my Pre-Wed. I would recommend him with no questions in mind. He is creative and friendly. He made us so comfy while shooting that we never felt like we met him for the first time.

I hope you fulfil all your endeavours in future Dom!

    Stay Creative!

The worst photographer ever, I regret using Dominic for my wedding who ruined my special day photos. Extremely unprofessional and does not abide by what he quotes. I wish there was a rating as “no star” I strongly recommend not to fall in a trap and do not use his services. Came from Vancouver to shoot a wedding just with his camera and no other lighting equipment. Blows my mind till date, how can a so called professional photographer not know how to prepare for a wedding shoot?? Just ridiculous 😳

I got my wedding photos from Dominic and his team and they were so great to work with. From the start til end Dominic and his team were passionate, creative and made sure we had everything taken care of. The delivery was so quick and I was impressed by their next day edit. I highly recommend Dominic and his team for your wedding.

I am merely sharing my experience, I don’t think it’s positive or negative.
He was very approachable at first and I felt very comfortable hiring him for the party. During our initial conversations, we had decided that we’d have a consult closer to the date of the party(a month before). He failed to mention at any point during our initial phone conversations, or emails that he himself is not available to photograph the event. I was under the impression that he would be the one photographing the event. I reached out to him a month before the party to schedule the consult, and that’s when he mentioned that his associate would be photographing the event and he was unavailable because he was booked for a wedding that day. I was a bit surprised but wasn’t entirely sure about the norms of the photo industry so I went with it. I asked him if the associate had experience with photographing SA events, to which I was assured that he did. During my initial conversations with Dominic, I repeatedly emphasized that it is important to us that our photographer has previous experience of photographing a similar event. That’s why we decided to go to him in the first place. When I looked at the associate’s portfolio, it did not reflect what I was told. Again, not sure if it was a complete portfolio, so my fiance and I kept an open mind. Comes the day of the engagement… the assigned photographer was not even sure what event he was photographing. He thought it was our Maiyan! I do not blame the photographer at all, he did a great job of capturing everything. My SIL had to guide him throughout the event and tell him what was important to capture. The photographs were ready for us within two weeks (which was earlier than the promised time). I did bring my concerns with Dominic later on and he was receptive to my feedback. In the end, I am happy with the photographs but I wish there was more transparency. We felt as though our event was not as important to them and I understand this from a business perspective. I guess I should have done my due diligence and asked if they had booked other events for the same day.
