I just want to share my personal experience with Indian clothes vendors I had experienced during my wedding process this is no attack to anyone this is purely my personal experience within this store.
I had purchased all my outfits from the same store and when we were doing the ordering and looking at swatches ect I was assured every time when we would start the process all over again for another outfit (bridal,bridesmaid groomsmen ect) that there would be no issue with anything and everything would come out exactly how I wanted they said because I had given them so many details to go off of weather it be a; colors swatch, photos, physical fabric or embroidery swatch/colors to match etc.
I first received my bridal outfit and it was amazing, it came out perfectly and was exactly like what we talked about in every way so of course I wasnt worried about how the rest of the outfits would turn out. One thing I was worried about was it was almost 2 months over the estimated arrival time that they had told me for the remaining outfits. Previously, I had advised them that we would need the remaining outfits on time because there wasnt a huge time frame for adjustments before the wedding date (their estimated time was roughly a month before events.)
I was sadly, extremely disappointed when my bridesmaids outfits arrived, they were horrible, nothing of what I had expected them to look like or what we had discussed (I will attach photos of my inspo to what we receieved.)
The outfits were wrong in many ways, firstly the color. I had picked a salmon color and received everything in bubblegum pink. The color was the most important to me because every outfit was suppose to be the exact same. Before ordering, I chose a shade #192, from the store and advised I wanted bridesmaids, groomsmen and sisters outfits to be in the same color. Second, I wanted the outfits to be above the knee but they were made almost down to the floor, no border/kaddahi, chuni made heavier than I wanted.
I made similar outfits for my sister in-laws to match the bridesmaids in color and pattern ect but be a little heavier so you could tell they were my husbands sisters- but when their outfits came in, I was upset and hurt because they were completely wrong, I was left feeling upset because my husbands sisters thought those were the outfits I had wanted them to wear.
My sister in law ended up going with her mother in law to go speak to the owner (my mother in law has passed away so her mother in law helped us) because he wanted us to pay additional for their outfits. So they went in, talked to the owner and were provided 2 ready made outfits from the rack for them to wear that were somewhat similar, they came to the agreeance that they could have these outfits to make up for their mistake- at no additional cost. He then proceeded to text me for more money and asked one of my husbands sisters to give him additional money when she came to pick up her outfit after adjustments.
Now for the groomsmen outfits, we ordered them four months before our wedding and they assured us that that was plenty of time for them to arrive and be fitted according to measurements. Well they were very wrong, the outfits didnt arrive until 2 days before my wedding events started but a lot of the groomsmen work and also dont live in Surrey, so they had to go out there and wait 3 hours for them to fix the outfit the day of and miss 1 pre-event because of how long it took there.
Before all these hiccups started I told the store owner I would pay half of everyone’s bill now and as they come to pick up there outfits they are responsible to pay the remainder (I told everyone a head of time they had to pay remainder on pick up) everyone was fine with it, when my bridal party was there to pick up there outfits they asked and he said it was ok for now but than after everyone has their outfits, he then asked me to come and pay the remainder of the bill. I responded I told you at the begining I’d pay half and than as they come to pick up they’ll have to pay the rest I asked everyone they all said they asked him before leaving he checked the book and said it was good, could of been mistaken but how is it my fault they’re not gonna beg you to take their money and plus my bridal party has been back and forth to his store MULTIPLE times with me throughout the whole year and a half and always was looking at the book but hed say 1 thing but wouldnt write it down he said “___”
I will say the store has good selection but they have a horrible way of keeping track of all there clients / clients info what they ordered or paid ect and the trailor anything related to sewing the owner say he cant help you or anyone for that matter besides the seamstresses but sadly they dont speak english and that alone caused many of my fustrations and COUNTLESS trips to Surrey for something that wasnt ready or was in so their error ment that I would have to leave work early or drive 45mins each way I know I didnt have to do this but I just wanted my outfit headache to be finished and checked off my list.
I just wanted to tell everyone some times to save some money isnt worth all the headaches, stress (because it did cause alot of stress and silly fights) or waste of gas and time (your times important when planning a wedding)… When planning an Indian wedding spend a little more I know you wear it once but all the stress of the outfits being so late, wrong when they come in and since they came so late that there was no time left to even fix the issue it literally made my heart sink, I had planned everything for a year and a half to have my vision fall apart right in front of me without me being able to do anything…. It’s your job with owning a store you should have your Indian distributors/ shipping routes/companys all figured out and you should be able to touch bases with them well they’re in the middle of making the outfit so you can catch it if something is wrong not until it arrives in your store.
On top of everything the orginal outfits they made for my sister in-laws and they were selling them on the floor for a few hundred dollars they wanted us to still pay for the outfits that they were now selling. I am just beyond shocked because of the relationship I thought we had
Sorry this was long but I just had to be 100% honest so brides in the future are aware of what they’re getting into… Not saying for just 1 outfit they might have done better but with multiple and wedding season in full effect it seemed too over whelmed them and my special day took the brunt of there errors which wasn’t fair.

I ordered 15 groomsmen outfits in February and my wedding was is in August. Which is well ahead of ordering, about 7 months. We had picked colours and styles for 2 days. The only thing Harinder needed to do was to show some patterns of vest materials. He took a deposit and never bothered to send any pictures like he said. I repeatedly texted him to show pictures, but his excuse was his suppliers were busy. Also, he couldn’t find what we originally asked so I he told me to switch my colours around. I was fed up and went into the store around the beginning of June. By the way the first outfit hasn’t even arrived. it’s been 3-4 months now, which is unacceptable.
Harinder mentioned he got an order in for a wedding party and I liked it. I told him to order verbally and texted him the outfit picture as well. August comes around, frantically texting him WHERE ARE THE OUTFITS?
outfits come 2 weeks before my wedding, all the outfits were oversized when we took measurements and the 2nd outfit, I was so pissed off. It was the wrong colour scheme and I hated it. I didn’t like it at all.
He tells me he’s going to rush order the correct one and guess what, it was going to come on my mehndi day. Wow Harinder, great management! I’m left with no choice but to keep the ugly outfit he ordered. He promised overnight alterations which took about 4 days.
He wanted money, I wasn’t planning on paying but the fact his tailors worked their asses off in fixing some ridiculous oversized outfits, I wasn’t going to be a cheater like him. Dealt with a discount and I do not plan to shop there ever again.
Harinder, a business advice: stop being greedy, be honest if you can’t handle custom orders, read your messages before you order and don’t stress brides out during their week of their wedding.
I am a really big fan of Bhatia Fashions! I buy a lot of outfits from there. Pricing is probably one of the best. Quality is good. And the best part is that their alterations team in the back can work magic. I have to always get alterations done on every single outfit, and they’ve really worked hard to fix my suits to fit me exactly.
Yes ive always gone to Bhatia fashions and bought my wedding lehnga from there as well. I would give them 5 since I ve always gone there and have never been disappointed.
I just have to say I have had the most amazing experience at Bhatia Fashions.
They are hands down the nicest people in Payal Busines Centre. Absolutely amazing customer service, and have been so helpful. I had a crisis with another vendor which I will be reviewing later. They spent the entire afternoon going out of their way to help me out. I am blown away at how kind and helpful they have been. It shouldn’t go unnoticed when someone does something so extraordinary that most people would not do.
Not only do they have an amazing selection of outfits and jewelry. They go above and beyond to help people out.

The customer service I got was the best as I shopped around amd I would say one of the best in Payal Business center. I received all my outfits on time with everything fitting properly with one exception which was altered on time right away. I have heard horror stories when it comes to outfits
To start, I went to Bhatia to get outfits for my sisters 8 months before my wedding. I was told not to worry and the outfits would be in by June (August wedding). From July to August I got multiple excuses as to why the outfits weren’t in. First i was told outfits have shipped but were delayed. Then I was told a monsoon happened and the thread turned from gold to silver (I thought the package was already shipped and there were no monsoons around the time this was alleged, it didn’t add up). We got numerous other excuses. I know covid was an issue but this is why I ordered 8 months in advance and was told its more than enough time. The incorrect outfits came in (all wrong sizes with wrong threading silver not gold) but we settled as it was a week before the wedding and the outfits although beautiful were not what we wanted. 3 months after my wedding we found out the correct outfits came in.
We also got my reception outfit from here which was also a disaster. I asked for a longer top as I didn’t want my stomach showing, the top I got was so short if I lifted my arm everything (chest up) would be exposed. They tried telling me its fine, and to just tie my lengha up higher. Even when i showed them I couldn’t lift my arms up without exposing myself. The top was fully embroidered so the best they could do was sew a matching plain cloth to give it more length ( there was not enough time to get a new top made and ordered). Although the outfit was beautiful, it looks weird with the top as in some photos you see all this beautiful embroidery and then a section of plain cloth.
I have nothing but good words to say about Bhatia fashions. I was super hesitant about where to get my outfit from because I’ve seen multiple reviews of stores who were not able to provide standard customer service to some of their clients, but I was blown away with Bhatias customer service!
The moment I walked into their store I was immediately greeted and asked if I needed any help with what I was looking for. I told them I was getting engaged and told them the style of outfit I was going for & they showed me a handful of options which met my needs! I tried all of them on & found one that I wanted right away!
I did end up purchasing the outfit 6 months before my event & the store owner told me I can come back 2 weeks before my event to get any needed alterations done free of cost, which I loved because I know a lot of people have started to charge for alterations. I came back 2 weeks before my event & Sidhu Aunty ( the tailor for their store ) took my measurements and went over everything to confirm it was the way I wanted. She finished my alterations in 5 days and she did everything perfectly, I didn’t need to get anything redone. I definitely recommend shopping with Bhatia Fashions, they make the experience totally stress free!
overall my experience with them was great with just a few minor things that came up. My moms lengha was lost and they couldn’t find it for about half an hour. They asked if my mom had taken the skirt or blouse home but she only had her dupatta. Luckily they did find it but not gonna lie I was stressed out for a brief moment. After alterations I came back and my blouse was still too big, they suggested for my to come back the next day – my mother in law requested they fix it right then and there as we were days away from the event and they did it. So I was overall very pleased. Great prices as well! Many other outfit shops also weren’t as welcoming or friendly to me as a non-desi but I never felt uncomfortable in their shop.
I got my wedding day jewelry from them and they have the best prices for artificial jewelry in all of Payal Center. They have a decent selection to choose from and they are always getting new pieces. I had found kaleere online that I wanted a while ago but I couldn’t bring myself to spend $500 on them. I found those exactly ones at Bhatia for way less. Other places were charging $1,000 plus for the most basic sets whereas I was able to find my bridal set (which was heavy) for half that price. I went to one place that was charging $150 for a plain nose ring…like?? Save your money, guys! Anyways, I would highly recommend Bhatia for your jewelry needs!
Wow, what can I say about the service I received from Bhatia Fashion! They were absolutely amazing and made me look sooo good!!! They listened to what I wanted, stayed in my budget, and made sure I was 100% satisfied with everything. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM!! They made this process so easy and stress-free! My two outfits received so many compliments, and I felt absolutely beautiful in them
