In this post, we are going to share local destinations in British Columbia, where you and your partner can have your honeymoon. No flying required, for those who don’t mind driving! 

As many couples continue to have their Indian weddings during this pandemic, brides and grooms have gotten creative! From having their haldi ceremonies in their backyards, to having small and socially distant wedding ceremonies outdoors, COVI19 has forced many to get creative with their wedding plans. In this post, we won’t be talking about getting creative with weddings. We will be talking about getting creative with honeymoons!

British Columbia is rich with honeymoon destination options. If you want to hit up some beach-front resorts or enjoy the island life, Vancouver Island isn’t far from the mainland!  If you are looking for romance in the wilderness, there are many lodges and glamping options further inland, in British Columbia.  For wine lovers, head on over to the east-side of the province. If you want to stay in an urban environment, Victoria, downtown Vancouver, and Whistler are options.

Island and Beach-Themed Destinations

Drive-time: 5-6 hours from Vancouver, B.C. (includes ferry ride)

Location: Vancouver Island

Description: Head east to the Canadian Rockies and grab a lake-side room at the Emerald Lake Lodge. If it is warm, check out some of the great hiking spots in the area. If it is winter, ski-ing is nearby, and Banff is only about an hour away.

It is a 100% indigenous owned winery and sits on top of a hill in West Kelowna with great views of the Okanagan Valley. Along with trying their great selection of wines, be ready to ingest an amazing cuisine

Description: One of the most popular wineries in Canada, Mission Hill Family Estate Winery is known for their wine tasting and quality of wine. You can capture memorable moments with the stunning architecture in place.

Description: A nice little winery with a  chilled vibe and friendly staff. The Hatch has great tasting wine and great scenery to capture photos. You won’t regret visiting this place and be sure to leave with a couple bottles of wine.

Location: Lake Country, BC

Description: This award winning winery boasts an impressive view of Lake Okanagan with highly rated wine. Recently ranked as Number 9 in Canada by Winealign National Awards. 

City & Nightlife

Drive-time: About 3 hours (includes ferry ride) 

Location: Victoria, British Columbia.

Description: Located on the southern tip of Vancouver Island, the Fairmont Empress offers best-in-class rooms, food, and services. Situated right on the water, the wilderness, and city, are all within your reach.

Drive-time: Less than 30 minutes, if you live in the greater Vancouver area.
